Airbnb sought a campaign that would celebrate the diversity and spirit of Mexico City, highlighting the value of its superhosts. The challenge was to go beyond a traditional commercial and create a documentary-style piece that would capture the city's true essence through the experiences and places that only its hosts know. The production had to be an intimate portrait that showed how the hospitality of local people is the heart of the platform.
The production of this project was handled by Adrenorama, with the direction of Memo Matthews and cinematography by Manuel Caballero. We approached the project with a mindset focused on exploration and genuineness. We filmed in various parts of Mexico City, from the chinampas of Xochimilco to local markets, to capture the essence of daily life. The objective was to create a natural and relaxed environment that would allow the hosts' personalities and warmth to shine on their own.
The result is a commercial that, with a sincere and optimistic tone, becomes an ode to Mexico City and its people. The audiovisual piece not only fulfills its objective of promoting Airbnb but also builds an emotional connection by showing that the platform is much more than a booking service. It's a gateway to authentic experiences, proving that the best way to tell a brand's story is through the genuine voices of the people who make it possible.
